Pembrokeshire and our Blue Flag beaches lead the way in Wales

What comes to mind when thinking about Pembrokeshire? We’re sure one of the first things you think about are the spectacular coastline and beaches waiting for you to explore, and you’ll agree that a visit to a beach has to be on your ‘to do’ list when on holiday. Pembrokeshire is full of golden beaches, hundreds of miles of coastal path, spectacular views and now a wonderful 12 Blue Flag Beaches to enjoy following the latest announcement from the Keep Wales Tidy Coast Awards. Here at Experience Môr we’re very proud that Pembrokeshire is leading the way in Wales.

The annual awards are highly prestigious and awards are only given to beaches with the highest standards in:

  • water quality
  • environmental education and management
  • safety
  • services and facilities

In addition to the well known Blue Flag Awards there is also the important Green Coast Award, this award is usually given to the hidden gems of the beach world. Beaches that reach the standards for water quality but are more rustic and natural than those more developed. A massive 12 of our beaches in Pembrokeshire were also awarded the Green Coast Award, and a number of these are our favourite places to visit (a bit more off the beaten track than the more well known beaches).

The importance of looking after the environment is central to our ethos at Experience Môr so we couldn’t be happier seeing so many beaches in Pembrokeshire reaching both these standards.

So we hear you asking, where do we find these Blue Flag and Green Coast beaches? Well here’s the list of our beaches in Pembrokeshire:
