Prime fishing waters give even the keenest fisherman a tempting task to tackle before they unwind; with over ½ mile of flowing river amongst the 30 acres of wood and farmland right on your doorstep.
Experience fishing with Môr…
Can we let you in on a little secret? Here in Pembrokeshire we are lucky enough to have some of the best fishing in Wales, whether its sea, game or coarse and still water fishing. And what’s more at Experience Môr we even have our own fishing spot at our Newport – Cwm Tawel cottages….. and we’re inviting you to come and try it for yourself.
Experience Môr owns half a mile of its own bank of wonderful fly water set amongst the most beautiful scenery. Surround yourself in the most wonderful setting to land that perfect catch. Sea-trout (Sewin) and salmon can often be caught from these rivers during the season from the 1st April to 17th October. Here in Wales the Sewin is revered as the greatest catch of all, due to the fact that it can provide a challenge to the canniest fisherman. The River Nevern on our doorstep at our Cwm Tawel cottages is a great location to try and tempt some sewin and put your fishing skills to the test. And if conditions here aren’t quite right we are also able to offer 5.5 miles of access for 1 rod on the river Cothi (just over an hours drive away). Another river renowned for Salmon, Trout and Sewin.
As well as fishing right on your doorstep Pembrokeshire is also known for its bass fishing, due to the miles and miles of accessible surf beaches on offer, why not head to Newport Sands or the Teifi Estuary near Cardigan during your visit to Pembrokeshire? The shores of Pembrokeshire also offer other great opportunities for sea fishing, with Bream, Bass, Mullet, Pollack and Mackerel. A great way to spend the day is out at sea (trips can be taken from nearby Fishguard or Cardigan as well as Tenby, Saundersfoot, Dale or St Davids) and you may even spot dolphins, seals, porpoises or even whales while you’re on board. So whether you’re a serious angler or weekend novice, Experience Môr fishing holiday cottages could be just the bait for you. We are passionate fishermen and are delighted to help our guests find the best fishing spots and choose the right tackle, so don’t delay pack your rod and tackle and head to Pembrokeshire, Wales, and discover all we have to offer for the keenest of fishermen.
Time stands still
as you enter a
secluded wooded valley
that feels all your very own.
Really enjoyed our stay here, beautiful house with good facilities and excellent location. Would recommend Newport and Aberfforest beaches, as well as Newgale. The Golden Lion in Newport is excellent for food, and is dog friendly.
A very enjoyable 2 weeks in a comfortable well-equipped cottage with a beautiful garden and situated in a superb location
A great place, time and craic, much laughter
Thank you for a wonderful week in West Wales, enjoyed by the 4 generations who stayed here

Beautiful cottage in a great location - idyllic even. Thank you very much for providing such a venue. The cottage amenities were great too - very comfortable beds, great kitchen & lounge
Wonderful stay in Penmynydd Uchaf, the views, garden and countryside location were as expected and more. House is well stocked with anything you would need. Bath robes and towels were very helpful. Extra freezer was also very much appreciated. Looking forward to visiting again!

We've all had such a lovely time, so remote and tranquil its the perfect place to relax. Jonathan was very welcoming and generous, a truly delightful host. Will definitely be back
Our experience of Glandwr can be summed up in 3 letters...WOW!! We had the warmest of welcomes from Jonty and Tally (the lab), the little touches like the wine, champagne and fully stocked fruit bowl made it all seem a little more special! Excellent communication with both Jonty and Daniel before and during our stay! The cottage is rural, peaceful and basically a little slice of heaven...you will not want to leave! It is equipped with everything you would need for a relaxing and enjoyable break away. Each bedroom has its own bath/shower room which is ideal if there is a large group of you! Hot tub was amazing too.
Our first Christmas away. What a beautiful cottage with stunning surroundings, couldn't have wished for anymore. Well equipped with a personal touch. Comfy beds, log burner, lovely hot showers he kist is never ending. Thank you for this wonderful experience.
I really don't have words to express. Don't want to see heaven, but this is heaven on earth & also a holy place. I wish I could write 100 pages about the cottage but this will be less.
- “This was our first visit to Penmynydd Uchaf and we absolutely loved it. With its fantastic views and beautiful location we couldn’t have wanted more. The house was stunning, very well equipped and very very clean. The only thing we didn’t like was that we had to leave! We will most definitely be visiting again and we hope to visit one of Jonty’s other properties in the very near future. Thanks for the memories Jonty.”
Our 4th stay in Jonathan's cottages, idyllic setting here our favourite location. We'll be back I'm sure. Thank you
Had the most amazing time - that good we even extended our stay by 2 nights! We certainly had the best experience with Jonty & Dan, both top boys. Loved taking Talley (Jonty's young lab) with our 2 on beaches. We will be back!!
Great relax. Peaceful house, total switch off. Newport so unspoilt. Thank you for wine etc, hope to see you again!
A truly amazing week +drama off missing dog (Inca belongs to Jonty). So lovely & welcoming. Intend to return for our 40th in July 2018! Birdlife amazing
Relaxing cottage in such a beautiful hidden spot. Perfect walks with the dogs & fishing on the river (we caught a small trout!).
Fantastic ice creams can be found at New Quay, found opposite the public toilets. Best ice cream I have ever had!
If you go to Cenarth Falls, Ty-Te Cenarth is really good for food, amazing staff and fantastic food.
Lovely week in this fantastic spot. Kids loved the beach. Great meals at the Golden Lion. Many thanks Jonathan for your great hospitality!!!
Very comfortable beds, fantastically well stocked kitchen, Wifi/Sky TV. Couldn't really ask for more to be honest - great.
A lovely week with weather from sleet to warm sunshine. Great fun walking / running on Newport Sands. Thanks Jonathan.
As a fisherman it was brilliant to have a salmon and sea trout river running through the garden. My son caught his first salmon here, weighing 8lbs, having caught a 9lb sea bass earlier in the day.
